Our fantastic month of sightings
The weather conditions weren’t very favorable for us to go out to sea. Even so, during the few trips that took place during the month of January, we had sightings that left us speechless!
The most sighted species was the common-dolphin making about 50% of this month’s total sightings, followed by the sperm-whale. Both of these two species are resident in the Azores meaning that we can see them all year round.
January didn’t stop there. The acrobatic striped-dolphins and second largest animal on the planet also appeared. These two species are more common in spring, so, seeing them during winter is always a very pleasant surprise.
2022 has just started and it’s already being amazing.
