S\u00e3o Miguel Island is home to several beautiful waterfalls surrounded by pure and wild nature. Get to know the four you really can't miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 - Salto do Cabrito Waterfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Salto do Cabrito waterfall is one of the most beautiful and well-known waterfalls on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel. It is located in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, relatively close to Lagoa do Fogo and the Caldeira Velha Natural Monument. It is a waterfall with about 35 meters of altitude. Its access can be done on foot or by car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This waterfall is one of the hidden natural beauties of the Green Island. Its waters are crystalline fresh. The landscape is amazing and breathtaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this area you can also do the Salto do Cabrito Trail starting and ending at Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande. During the trail you will be surrounded only by the green and wild nature of the interior of S\u00e3o Miguel. It is a trail with a duration of approximately three hours and with an average degree of difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 \u2013 Salto do Prego Waterfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Salto do Prego waterfall is located in the parish of Faial da Terra, in the municipality of Povoa\u00e7\u00e3o. Access is via a trail. It starts in Faial da Terra on a tarred road and then on a dirt road. Along the trail you will find several streams and some species of Australian vegetation and also typical vegetation of the archipelago. Its degree of difficulty is medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With some steps, slopes and wooden bridges, the path is not very easy, but it is certainly worth it to reach the Salto do Prego waterfall. What do you find? One of the most beautiful waterfalls that you will have the opportunity to visit on the Green Island. Surrounded by an authentic jungle setting, its waters are very fresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 \u2013 Caldeira Velha Waterfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Caldeira Velha Waterfall, in the Environmental Interpretation Center of Caldeira Velha<\/a>, located in Ribeira Grande, is a fantastic place to go for a swim. This is a hot spring water waterfall that will provide you with moments of pure relaxation and peace. Perfect for resting the body and mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will find yourself surrounded by exuberant nature made up of exotic vegetation. It is an experience not to be missed on S\u00e3o Miguel Island. This is one of the most desirable waterfalls on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 \u2013 Secret Waterfall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The Secret Waterfall is in the parish of \u00c1gua de Alto, in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo. It's an excellent option to cool off! Access to the waterfall can be done by trail or you can get there by car, through the small town of Lugar da Praia (Trinta Reis) and walk a few meters until you find it. The waterfall, surrounded by dense vegetation, has clear and fresh water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
